"Thank you all so much for a wonderful stay! It couldn't have been more fantastic. The rooms, food and accommodations were lovely. We are planning our O'Driscoll family stay for next year with you!"
Irish Times Go Magazine March 19th 2011:
"In Baltimore, Casey's Hotel (caseysofbaltimore.com) has a commanding spot overlooking the sea and is a lively spot to stay"
Excellent accomodations, nice room overlooking the harbor (and the ruins of an old church and graveyard).
You absolutely must spring for the black sole for dinner! Veggies are direct from the garden out back...can't beat that for fresh.
Stayed in 2 cottages ,one for parents one for teens. Worked out well. Lovely accommodation at v.affordable prices. Hotel itself v attractive with excellent night music. Loads to do in the area. Baltimore has one small mini mart only and lacks proper shopping facilities but has good restaurants especially Jacobs on the waterfront v.g
My husband & I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Caseys Townhouse accomodation. I felt it was great value 3 nights B&B and one dinner for just less than €200. The townhouse is not part of the hotel but is only about 5 minutes away. We could have stayed at the hotel for the same price but opted for the former as it is closer to the village & the road less busy with cars for walk home after the pub.
Baltimore Townhouse was comfortable & spotlessly clean. If you don't want to go to the hotel for breakfast, they deliver fresh bread for a continental breakfast. We ate in Caseys of Baltimore Hotel & the service was excellent & the food was quite good. The view from the hotel terrace is lovely. All the staff were very friendly as well. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Resting right on the coast of West Cork, just a few miles from the thriving market town of Skibbereen, Baltimore, and in many respects Casey's, is one of west Ireland's best kept secrets. Rich in fishing stock, a diving and snorkelling haven- thanks to its unpolluted and clear waters - and a hotspot for sailing enthusiasts, local customers and regular tourists alike know that no visit to Baltimore is complete without a bowl of Casey' renowned seafood chowder, served with delicious homemade brown bread, or a fresh crab- meat sandwich accompanied by a bowl of mouthwatering homemade chips.
Established by Ann and Michael Casey in 1975, the bar was originally a small country pub. It quickly established reputation for excellent food has resulted in a number of extension projects over the years and today Casey's of Baltimore is a renowned seafood restaurant and, or course, an idyllic Irish bar serving perfect fresh fare.
Not surprising due to its location Caseys specialises in fresh seafood, but unusually the bar has been doing so now for over 30 years.
'Bars just didn't serve food back then, so we were a little shocked when it worked. We started offering more seafood dishes and we included "lobster at the bar" . The recipes we use today are still the same.
Following the addition of the hotel, In 1997, capacity once again grew and today Casey's regularly seats 150 guests on a Saturday night.
Bar customers can also enjoy specialties of the house such as Whole Prawns with homemade brown bread or a Seafood Platter or a large bowl of Roaring Water Bay Mussels with homemade chips.
Looking to the future, Casey's recently started farming their own organic vegetables . "We're very attracted to the idea that the majority of ingredients served at Casey's of Baltimore is produced either by us, or sourced from local suppliers that we know, 'the quality of local produce is second to none, and that's reflected in the incredible flavour of our food. We're constantly reviewing the quality of the produce we serve and we're proud of our reputation for quality homemade food".

The fireside : Casey's is a fishermen's pub... Stay here on a Saturday night, when the bar swells to the sounds of accordions, fiddles and harmonicas...and you'll think you've stumbled into an Irish Tourist Board promotional video. Grab a spot by the peat fire and the fabulous cliché is complete.
But Casey's is known less for its Saturday nights than for its all-week dinners. Local lobster and crab are the signature specialities, while the seafood chowder, mopped up by Ann Casey's superbly textured soda bread, is considered by the gnarled sea dogs propping up the bar to be the best in the county... After a walk to Lough Ine with the wind blowing in from the south, that's a recommendation to swear by.
While the bar feels as if it might date back to St Patrick's day, Casey's bedrooms were refurbished just five years ago. Simple but cosy, they have great views over the harbour and the Ilen River estuary, making your hangover much easier to bear.
