To celebrate the start of the West Cork Garden Trail this year, two gardens in Baltimore will be hosting a special Garden Festival weekend.
On Saturday June 11th at Glebe Gardens from 10am there will be a book signing morning with Jane Powers, the Irish Times gardening correspondent and Joyce Russell, writer and expert on vegetable growing. Both Jane’s new book, The Living Garden – A Place That Works With Nature and Joyce’s book, The Polytunnel Book have been widely acclaimed. Joy Larkcom will also make a special guest appearance.
From 2.30pm there will be two fascinating talks.
First, Michael Colby of Ravens Oak Gardens, Bantry will give a talk on Gardening for Wild Life. Michael is a professional bird watching guide.
Followed by
Jimi Blake, of the well known Hunting Brook Gardens, Wicklow, who will be talking on The Contemporary Mixed Border.
Tickets for the afternoon lectures are 5euro and booking is recommended.
Delicious home cooked food will be served all day in the award winning Glebe Café.

On Sunday 12th June Inish Beg Estate, Baltimore will be holding a Plant and Garden Fair.
Starting at 12 noon, with specialist nurseries from all over the Ireland selling a wide range of plants, and all things for the garden. From pots to sculpture, tools, ornaments etc.
Admission is 5euro – including admission to the gardens and woodlands
