*Kicking off the weekend The Saturday Morning Walk begins at 10.30am. Meeting at the entrance to Inish Beg Estate for registration, then setting off for a walk around the Estate. Exploring all the Organic Farm animals and Wildlife. Walk approx 1.5 Hours Suitable for all the Family.
*Later that afternoon The knockmagh Hill Walk(Lough Hyne Hill) is starting at 2.00pm. Meet at the car Park of Lough Hyne for Registration. Then Set off on the beautiful hilly hike. Once at the top enjoy the Panoramic views over Roaring Water Bay, Baltimore Village & the Salt Water Lake-Lough Hyne. This walk is moderate with plenty of Steps and uneven paths and takes 2.5hours to complete.
*Followed by Sunday’s walk on the 2nd of October.. Head over to Cape Clear Island by ferry from Baltimore. Meet at the Pier for registration and depart at 12noon.On this Guided Walk you may visit the megalithic standing stones, a 5,000 year-old Passage Grave a 14th century O’ Driscoll Castle, and more interesting sights. ….The Ferry will return at 4pm and Costs €16.00 per person or €8 for children, a family ticket is available for 2Adults & 2 Children for €40.This is a moderate walk and all-terrain is rough.

October 2nd Capetrail – a beach and coastline walk on the southernmost tip of Ireland with local people who will explain the edible seashore, local wildlife, rich social history and the Irish names of things and places.

Ferry at 12 noon from Baltimore, West Cork. Cost of return ferry Baltimore – Cape Clear 16 euro for adults, 8 euro for children. The walk is free of charge, please bring your own sandwiches and drinks. Wear suitable shoes for rocky trail.

This event is part of the National Trails Day initiative. Come to Oileán Chléire and learn about maritime and coastal features, local history and the Irish Language. It’s much more than a ‘guided walk’ and it’s free. Capetrail participants will be met on the pier in Cape Clear at arrival of ferry.  Please send a brief email to comhairlec@gmail.com to register.
